The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture is hosting a National Agrometeorolocal committee meeting at the Kouga Local Municipality in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality
This session focuses on Post disaster recovery and rehabilitation, Migratory Pets disaster and climate change
During his welcoming remarks, Dr Vuzi Rozani, the director for Sarah Baartman district, highlighted that this district is the most affected by flood disasters. Most importantly, it is the most exporting district in the Citrus industry to other countries.
On the second day, the group will visit the projects and farms that were affected by floods.
The farms to be visited in the Joubertina area are DSR Farming, Sterkman Broedery, and Kaoank Broedery, while in the Hankey area, are Threepence Farm and Le Roux Farm
